I just today purchased this mounting system. I didn't know until I opened the box and pulled out the instruction manuel that it says it's not compatible with tandems or recumbent bikes. My recumbent fits on it if I put the tail gate down, which also helps conserve fuel. There is nowhere on any website I found or on the outside of the box that tells you this The only two problems I had was with the assembly of the unit. The rubber spacers required that I spray silicone spray inside in order to get it on the bar, and it took all my strenght, a lot of bad words to force it on. Once the spacer was in place, the Underarm Plate will not go over the spacer and bar, it's impossible. I had to then take the spacers off with a lot of pushing and pulling and just put the blocks on the bare metal frame. After getting the mount in place and my bike on it, I loved it!
