| Write Your Road Trip Story | | Travelers: Tuan Tran | | Origin: Foster City Destination: S. Lake Tahoe Saturday at 4am, most would call it morning, but it was the continuation of a long night at the bar for me. Forecast said light breeze with 20% chance of snow, they were right, for once. I’m zooming down the slopes with beautiful blue skies above me. Sunday prediction, 40% chance of snow, so what the heck, why not stay till tomorrow right? After a night of buffet eating we woke up early to hit snow. The only thing I was going to hit that day, was my head against the steering wheel. 8 feet of snow was dumped and along with it, came the next 12 hours of my life...consecutively...spent in car...without bathroom breaks. Moving 2 miles an hour at time, and at others not being able to see a inch in front of you. Feeling like the Donner party, with the exception of the whole cannibalism thing, we finally made it home. Product of choice4runner is fitted with Thule 757 & 724 w/ fairing for the winter. In the summer it wears the 964 - Revolver 4 Bike Hitch Rack.
Tundra is fitted with Yakima bedrider w/ 4 Raptor.
| | | | | | | | | | | | Travelers: Tyesha Williams | | Origin: Los Altos, CA Destination: Park City, UT I get car sick easly, so when my friends were planning a trip to Utah to go snowboarding, I thought "Oh hell no". Realizing my lack of financial funds and my desperate need for a vacation, I decided to suck it up and go. The ride was torturous, but the beauty of Park City made up for it. The ambiance of the slopes almost made me forget how horrible I am at snowboarding. Unbeknownst to me the park was closing and I wasn't even half-way down the mountain!! I begged for the ski patrol to get the emergency snowmobile and get my sore butt off the mountain, but they refused. They were full with such encouragement and patience, they didn't mind the overtime. My best boarding experience ever =) Product of choiceYakima Fullswing 4 with optional Ski attachment, Diamond Back chains to make sure we got there safe and the super big 21 cubic foot roof top cargo box to make sure there was enough room for Daisy "the dog".
| | | | | | | | | | | | Travelers: James Dunnam | | Origin: Sunnyvale Destination: S. Lake Tahoe After the near 2 week rain storm we had, I figured I had to head up to Tahoe with some friends at least once this year even if the snow fall we had was not that great this year. We left early Friday morning and got to the hill around 9:30. Boarded all day Friday and Saturday. Probably the best broading I will get in all year Product of choiceDimond Back chains and Thule Atlantis 1600
