Although he eats, breathes and dreams RackNRoad, he does find time to get out and have some fun and attacks that with the same fervor as he does his career. "NICE RACK!" Don't ya just love it when you step out of your vehicle at the local grocery store and someone yells to you across the parking lot, "NICE RACK!" Yeah, I know you love this. Well the fine folks at the Arden Way Rack N Road dealership can not promise you that kind of attention if you patronize their store. I can tell you though that I've recently had a great experience there and above average service. If you are living busy and active life like I do, eventually you'll need to figure out a way to transport your "playthings" from point A to point B and that's what they help you with here, whatever rack(s) you need for your vehicle. My kayak perches nicely atop my SUV thanks to the helpful folks at RacK N Road. But here's the KICKER... In yet another moment of absent-mindedness a few weeks ago I ended up losing an important part to my fold-down rear bike rack. Yesterday I went in just to see if I could order this part from them. Well, not only did they have it in stock, when I asked them how much for it, they said "NO CHARGE." Yeah baby... NICE! So any place willing to help a customer like that? Yeah FIVE HAPPY STARS for sure.

| Write Your Road Trip Story | | Travelers: Greg Bauer | | Origin: sacramento Destination: Salt lake City My family and I own Rack N Road, a couple of times a year we make a Road Trip out to some of our car rack, hitch, and trailer stores. This year we towed a smaller racing trailer out to Salt Lake and decided to take our Motorcycles. When we were younger, we use to take our mountain bikes. It is amazing how much more power these dirt bikes have vs. our legs.... Anyways, this was one of three stops we made. First ride was at Aldercreek in Lake Tahoe. Great single track motorcycle ride. Very difficult but absolutely beautiful overlooking the valley once you hit the top of the mountain. Our second stop was at Moon Rock outside of Reno. This is the picture you see. This was my favorite stop due to the different terrain it offered. They do quite a bit of trial riding on the rocks.
We had the mountains to ourselves. Pictured is one of our many trucks and one of three trailers we use in the company. we talked our father into going and it was quite a male bonding experience. If you type into Google, you find driving directions to this destination. Our third stop was on the way back from Salt lake at a place called 5 mile. It was 45 minutes south of Salt lake and again was well worth the diversion. Moab we left for another trip. Product of choiceOn the way back we towed one of our galvanized 2-bike motorcycle trailers. It worked great. Easy to load the bike, towed great. The part number was the Thule 2200.
| | | | | | | | | | | | Travelers: Doug Hewitt | | Origin: Folsom Destination: Yosemite So all we had to do was pick up four strangers at the hotel, all their luggage, and supplies for 4 days of adventure in Yosemite. No big deal. Oh yah, we had our two bikes and four for them, helmets, water, snacks, and clothing for the four days. Possible. And they had already been on the road for a week and had stuff from those days. Improbable. When all was packed and ready to go we looked like the truck from the Beverly Hillbillies. Some would even say they saw Granny strapped to the top of the SUV in her rocking chair. Four bikes were hanging off the Thule receiver bike hitch. Two more were in the Thule roof rack. Wheels were on the wheels rack. Stuff was strapped everywhere! The bikes served as bookends for bags piled past the top tubes of the bikes. Finally, smaller bags sat between our guests--and they couldn't have had a better time. Four days of cycling, hiking, and eating our way through Yosemite was memorable for four people from the East. A time they will never forget!!! Product of choiceThule 4 bike receiver rack. Thule roof rack attached to 2005 Explorer. All purchased at Rack N Road over the last few years. Cars have changed and so have attachments--but the basic rack is still the same.
| | | | | | | | | | | | Travelers: Cheryl Holben | | Origin: CA Destination: Tahoe For years I had owned a Suburban and as one of only 2 adult snowboarders and the only one with a 4WD SUV I constantly was taking a full car of kids to Tahoe to snowboard. This summer I downsized to an LR3. The kids loved my new “much cooler” car but were concerned about how they and all their equipment would get up to Tahoe this winter to snowboard. Rack ‘n Road provided me with the solution. We have had many good times, despite the poor snowfall this winter and are looking forward to spring boarding. Product of choiceThule 430's, TK12, the Thule Pull Top ski/board carrier
| | | | | | | | | | | | Travelers: Jodee Thompson | | Origin: Hanover, NH Destination: Sacramento, CA Driving home from college is usually a rite of passage. But when my brother agreed to come along for the ride, we knew it was a chance in a lifetime to see the country on the road. We packed my Subaru to the brim, stuffed my rooftop cargo box with sleeping bags and other luggage, strapped my bike on the back, and we were off! Over the next 4000 miles we visited 18 states, 14 friends and family members, and a few too many burger joints. You learn a lot about yourself during the four years away at college, but there is something to be said about a two-week cross-country summer road trip—it was an unforgettable learning experience to say the least!
Product of choiceProduct of Choice: Thule Atlantis 1600-awesome. It was quiet, easy to use; we locked our stuff in it overnight. We also had a hitch installed to carry our bikes on the BVG Back Road Pro. Very secure and easy to use, after the first 1,000 miles we knew it would go the distance. We definitely wouldn’t have gotten everything home without these three products!
